Books by Roda
Roda truly did not fall into her writing path until she was 52 years old, in a new place with no vision for her future. Hired by a local paper to write feature and human interest stories, her heart soared when she would sit down to let the story flow out of her. A few years later the McAllen Chamber of Commerce hired her as a freelance writer for their magazine, where she wrote for 17 years, and her world opened further as she wrote about the businesses and their leaders of the community.
Honing her craft for 10 years at the paper found her having high aspirations of writing a book. The first which came to her was after a meditation one day when she heard in her mind, “You’re going to write a children’s book.”
Rocksann Finds God was a short piece that grew over the years to emerge as a storybook. She felt this was God’s book, a simple, enchanting story of a girl with her own special powers looking for answers about life and searches for God for the answers.
Everelle’s Quest, an Isle of Foote novel is her first novel. She states, “I like to write spiritually inspired fantasy adventures." This novel is surely that, full of adventure, intrigue, spirituality, magic, transformation and downright fun. Her descriptions are so vivid you feel like you’re in a movie as you turn the pages of this imaginative journey.
Her next book will be more close to home as she shares her voyage with Grief. A Diary of Grief, My Yellowbrick Road to Peace with Grief, coming out soon. After that she has planned other books and hopes the Universe will take that ride with her.
Everelle's Quest

When Everelle finds herself fleeing her burning world with no memory of her past, she joins seven strangers escaping the inferno. Is this truly her only hope . . . to follow the mysterious Mentula, a man who unerringly leads them to a strange, different world straight up a cavernous wall?

Why were they chosen to come to Isle of Foote? Who believed these eight strangers could save this mysterious island above Mother Earth? While struggling to answer such simple questions as “What’s your name? Where are you from?”, Everelle is persuaded to join the other seven on a quest to rescue Isle of Foote from certain implosion. Joining forces with unlikely characters like dragons, wizards, giants and more, she and her new comrades face their own inadequacies, doubts and fears as they seek the answers to the mystery laid out before them.

Follow the questors as they search within themselves to find their own unique gifts/talents which could be the key to bringing the enchanted Isle of Foote to safety once more. Will they be in time? More importantly, will they be enough?
